Celebration of Jennie’s Life will be at 1:00P.M. Wednesday June 6, 2018 at the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service.
The family requests that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to either Riley’s Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House and Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Jennie R. Smith, 71, Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday June 2, 2018 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL.
Jennie was born in Vandalia, IL on June 3, 1946 and was the daughter of Leonard Housley and Freeda (Biggs) Housley. On February 1, 1964 she married Jack Fancil who preceded her in death on June 1, 1970. On June 30, 1973 she married Clarence R. Smith who survives.
Jennie was co owner and co operator with husband Clarence of the Hi Way Café in Oblong working there for 47 years. After selling the café she worked at Kids Kingdom in Oblong and also at the Optional ED School in Willow Hill, IL. Jennie was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1964 and the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Oblong. She loved spending time with her grandkids that were the love of her life.
Surviving Jennie is her husband Clarence Smith of Oblong, IL: two sons and daughters-in-law Todd and Lydia Fancil and Randy and Nikki Fancil all of Oblong, IL; daughter Michelle Brinkman of Robinson, IL; She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law Joe and Elaine Housley, Arlington, TX; 12 grandchildren and 2 great –grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and first husband.
